Growing up in the Quebec Back-Woods and spending long stretches of time in the Grand Rain Forests of the Northwest, I witnessed nature’s heart. There is no separation between the visible and the invisible, time and eternity, human and the divine.
My paintings are an ecology. A primal, rhythmic view of flora is interwoven through life’s primordial portals.
With a style influenced by Emily Carr, Georgia O’Keeffe, The Canadian Group of Seven, and Tom Thompson, I strive for visceral elegance. Acrylics, watercolors and oils, bold colors and brushstrokes, scratches and drips create a vital depiction expressive of expansion. Organic curvilinear shapes bring life to vegetal art in honor of Celtic wisdom, Anam Cara.
